The Chalet is situated 12 minutes walk from St Gervais les Bains town centre and all its amenities.

  1. Saint Gervais les Bains – Saint Gervais is a beautiful and friendly Savoyard village. The 19th Century architecture gives the town an original, antique-chic atmosphere! It is home to Europe’s highest mountain, and has been a popular holiday destination, renowned for its natural thermal spa, for over a hundred years. It is also home to Chalet l’Unisson. There is weekly market on Thursday between 8am to 2pm.
  2. Megeve Town Visit (3 Hours) – Megève is in a lovely sunny setting and has a beautifully preserved, partly medieval centre. Visitors are mainly well-heeled French people. The top reason to visit is for the medieval architecture and the glitzy shopping experience in the alps. Megève’s charming old town centre is car-free and comes complete with open-air ice rink, horse-drawn sleighs, cobbled streets and a fine church.
  3. Chamonix Visit (4 hours) – Chamonix Mont Blanc has been at the sharp end of Alpine adventure since 1760. This steep-sided valley, draped with tumbling glaciers beneath a crown of rocky spires, is where snowsports and mountaineering meet.Its old buildings have kept their sedate Victorian and more fanciful Belle Epoque look and, now that the centre is traffic-free, it offers pleasant strolling.
  4. Lake Passy (3 Hours)– The biggest local lake. Bring your beer, water wings, windsurfing board and barbecue and just hangout.
  5. Lake Vert (4 Hours)– Your trip starts with a 45 minute drive, crossing the border into Switzerland, gaining over 800m in elevation to arrive at a man made marvel. From the dam there is a bridge that you can walk across to view the magnificent Swiss landscape.
  6. Saint Gervais Thermals (4 hours) – From the centre of Chamonix, a 20 minutes cable car ride takes you to the gateway to the high Alps at a height of 3,842 m. From its height of 3,777m, the Aiguille du Midi and its laid-out terraces offer a 360° view of all the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. A lift brings you to the summit terrace at 3,842m, where you will have a clear view of Mont Blanc. the more fearless will take a Step Into The Void, onto a 2.50 m glass cage out over a 1000 m precipice.
  7. St Nicolas de Veroce visit (2 Hours) Departing from Chamonix, this famous rack and pinion railway brings you to the Montenvers site at 1913 m. An imposing panorama of the Mer de Glace, Europe’s largest living glacier. The tour of the “Grotte de glace” (Ice Cave) takes visitors into the very heart of the glacier.
  8. Ice Skating (2 hours)- Your trip starts with a 30minute drive to the Montenvers Train Station, Via Ferrata is now a new activity in its own right for people keen to try something a little more challenging than alpine hiking. Although no real climbing ability is needed, a via ferrata does demand a steady head for heights.
  9. Les Gorges de la Diosaz – 20 minutes from St Gervais, this walkway takes you through the spectacular Waterfall in the Mont Blanc region. Easy walkway for all the family to sample the wonderful scenery around here.

Fishing (4 hours) – We can arrange your permit to fish in the lakes or in the rivers. Day or fortnightly permit are available at the Gaillands chalet, at the Saint Antoine Tobacconists in Les Houches, or at the tourist office in Servoz or Vallorcine.
